Required Personal Protective Equipment
Safety is the Department of Solid Waste’s top priority
To reduce accidents and protect the public’s safety, the Department of Solid Waste requires customers to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while at the Solid Waste Disposal Complex beginning Monday, November 28, 2022.
PPE Kits for Purchase
Customers have the opportunity to purchase PPE (except for closed-toed shoes) from the Scalehouse for $20 per kit, which includes sales tax.
Required Personal Protective Equipment
At the Citizen Hand Unload area, customers are required to wear:

Closed-toed shoes (no sandals)
At the Waste-to-Energy (WTE) Facility, yard waste/tire processing areas, and landfill, customers are required to wear:
